2026 David Blackley Hong Kong and China Tour (members only)

The FSDBC tour to Hong Kong and China is scheduled for June 2026 to honour our founder, David Blackley, who introduced dragon boating to Australia. This special journey will trace David’s footsteps—revisiting how he first discovered this unique sport in 1981 and how he went on to bring it home, shaping the beginnings of dragon boating in Australia.

The trip is scheduled to align with the annual Dragon Boat Festival, offering a distinctive cultural experience in southern China—the region recognized as the birthplace of contemporary dragon boat racing.  We will be celebrating DB Festival in our sister club Chai Wan Fishermen Club in their Big Dragon (50 seater) before we travel to Guangzhou for more racing.
